Ryan Clifford

Co-Director

Ryan Clifford believes in the power of design education to inspire, agitate, and challenge students to be catalysts for change. He heads the Center for Design Practice, a multidisciplinary studio that prepares the next generation of design leaders to make a positive impact on society. He is also graduate faculty in MICA’s Master of Arts in Social Design program, and teaches in the undergraduate Graphic Design program. Ryan is an advisor for Project M and leads yearly design intensive, community-based Project M Blitzes with MICA students in Greensboro, AL and Belfast, ME.

Ryan also worked as a creative designer at General Motors where he was responsible for branding implementation, identity design, and environmental graphics. His work has been recognized by the National Paperbox Association and the Rochester Advertising Foundation, How International Design Annual and Print Regional Design Annual. Ryan has also contributed to various books, including Just Design: Socially Conscious Design for Critical Causes, Fingerprint 2, and Designing for Social Change.
